Introducing the Goody Commerce API

Introducing the Goody Commerce API

The Goody Commerce API lets you bring Goody’s curated collection of 300+ gift brands right into your website or app.

Goody is pleased to announce the launch of its new API for developers.

The Goody Commerce API lets you integrate the magic of Goody gifting right into your own product. Using the API, you can create revenue-generating eCommerce experiences without worrying about inventory management, logistics or even payment collection.

The Commerce API lets you bring Goody’s curated collection of 300+ brands right into your website or app. Furthermore, you can use Goody's new Automation API to automatically send gifts to users based on triggers that you define.

Best of all, just like gifts sent on Goody’s own platform, gifts sent via the Goody API do not require a shipping address and can be swapped for alternative options.

How does the Goody Commerce API work?

You can use the Goody Commerce API to sell or send gifts from Goody’s entire gift collection in your website or app. You can fully customize the frontend UI.

This makes the API a great option for businesses that want to increase sales by incorporating eCommerce add-ons and upsells into their product, without any of the complexity or risk of launching a marketplace themselves.

When orders are placed via the API, you capture revenue from the sale. Goody handles inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and logistics, and even customer support. You can decide whether or not to handle payment processing.

You can also use the Automation API to automatically send gifts to users based on triggers you define, such as for customer rewards programs or market research surveys.

Why use the Goody Commerce API?

Seeing the value of gifting and eCommerce in your product is easy.

Launching an eComm marketplace is not.

With the Goody Commerce API, you can seamlessly integrate the world’s most curated collection of gift brands right in your app, with zero resources needed for inventory, merchandising or order fulfillment.

When physical card company Postable wanted to incorporate gift upsells into their product, they turned to Goody. As a long-time leader in direct-mail greeting cards, they hoped to provide a way for users ordering online to add gifts into their cards via a redeemable QR code.

“The Goody Commerce API was such a huge win for us,” says Postable co-founder Jesse Blockton. “It lets us seamlessly offer Goody gifts as an add-on during the checkout process, without having to invest in inventory or build out backend order fulfillment. It opened up a new sales channel for us, and allowed us to launch in weeks rather than quarters.”

Using the API, Postable lets customers add gifts from brands like Levain Bakery, MALIN + GOETZ, and Graza – without ever leaving the Postable app.

Who’s a good fit?

Goody's Commerce API and Automation API are intended for organizations doing business in the USA, with any of the following use cases:

1. Drive sales by letting users buy products or gifts directly in your app. For example, you could add gift upsells to an existing product UX.

2. Facilitate safe and private peer-to-peer gifting. For example, a dating app could let its users send gifts to each other without an address. Goody collects shipping information from gift recipients themselves, maintaining privacy and protecting sensitive data.

3. Automatically send gifts to users or customers. For example, you could automatically send gifts to survey respondents, customer rewards program members, or members of any other incentivized program.
