Last-Minute Holiday Gifts On Goody: A Step-by-Step Guide for Businesses

Last-Minute Holiday Gifts On Goody: A Step-by-Step Guide for Businesses

This step-by-step guide will show you how to use Goody to knock out all your business’s holiday gifts in about ten minutes.

If you’re feeling a bit stressed because you haven’t figured out holiday gifts for your employees, clients, or business partners, you’re in luck. This step-by-step guide will show you how to use Goody to knock out all your business’s holiday gifts in about ten minutes.

Not only is it easy to send joyful, personalized gifts on Goody, but for your recipients, it won’t feel last-minute at all!

Step 1: Sign up for a free trial of Goody Pro

Goody Pro is our advanced subscription for businesses. For holiday gifts, it's a game changer. Sign up for a free month by using code FREETRIAL22 at checkout. You can cancel anytime.

The steps below rely on Pro features, so it's important to sign up before you get started.

Step 2: Send a “Treat Yourself” gift

There are thousands of trendy gift options available on Goody. However, the easiest and most popular choice – and one that we always recommend – is the Treat Yourself gift collection. With this option, you simply set a price point, and your recipients can choose any gift that’s at or below that amount, excluding alcohol and gift cards. You can also preview what will be available at each price.

For your recipients, the experience is heavenly. You get to choose any gift you want from Goody's entire collection! Yet it still feels less transactional, more special, than a gift card, because of our curated gift options.

As a sender, you’ll usually pay a bit less per recipient than the budget you set. Most companies set prices of $50, $75 or $100 for staff holiday gifts, but there are wonderful options for as little as $25 per recipient.

Step 3: Add a card and message

Goody has dozens of beautiful holiday cards to choose from. Or you can upload your own custom-branded one. (Use a 800px by 1130px PNG or JPEG file.)

Add a personalized message using first name tokens, such as “Hi {first name}.”

Step 4: Add your recipients’ names and emails

With Goody, you never need shipping addresses, because recipients themselves provide this when they accept your gift.

If you only have a few recipients, you can manually enter their first names, last names, and emails on the Send page.

If you have a longer list of recipients, then upload a CSV to save time. Here’s a CSV template you can use.

  • 💡Pro tip: Phone numbers can be included if you want to send SMS notifications, but are not required.

Step 5: Configure your gift send

Now you’ll see multiple options to customize your gift delivery. For most companies’ holiday gifts, here are the settings we recommend:

✔️ Prices hidden - Enable swapping for one item.

This means that your recipients can choose one gift from our collection, with no prices shown.

  • 💡Pro tip: If your gift value is greater than $75, you may want to enable swapping for multiple items with prices shown. That means recipients can select multiple gifts up to the total price. The value of your gift will also be revealed to allow them to shop through our store.

✔️ Schedule your send.

You can schedule your gifts to go out later, or have them go out immediately.

✔️ Set an expiration date for mid-January.

That gives your recipients enough time to claim their gifts, even if they’re on PTO during the holidays.

✔️ Enable a landing page + Yes, send gift notifications to recipients.

This means Goody will send email notifications to your recipients informing them of your gift and card. Enabling a landing page means you’ll also have a link you can send, in case anyone misses Goody’s emails.

  • 💡Pro tip: If you're gifting within or to a company that might have an email firewall, we recommend sending your gifts using a landing page link in your own message.

✔️ Enable or disable international shipping.

Typically, if you’re gifting to U.S.-based employees, you can leave this disabled.

✔️ Add a credit card.

This is the payment method we’ll charge when people accept your gifts, up until your gift expires. Please note that you’ll only pay for gifts that recipients accept.

✔️ Choose your email delivery method.

If your company uses Gsuite, then we recommend integrating your Gmail and choosing “Send from my own email.”

Otherwise, you can choose “Email sent by Goody.” Note that if you previously opted to turn notifications off and self-send a link, then no email will be sent.

✔️ Review your gifts and hit send!

Your gifts will go out immediately – or else at the time you scheduled them for.

What happens after you send your gift

If you chose to send email notifications, then your recipients will receive their gift notifications from gifts@ongoody.com or from the Gsuite email you integrated.

If you chose to not send email notifications, then on the next page, you’ll see a single landing page link you can use in your own gift message. That one link will work for all recipients in your gift batch.

As people start opening and accepting your gifts, you can follow that activity on your Track page. You’ll also be able to read all the thank you notes they’ve added!

If you enabled email notifications, then Goody will send reminders to recipients who haven't accepted their gifts – including a final reminder before they expire.

It’s a good idea to keep an eye on the gift acceptance rate on your Track page. If a few days pass and you see that many of your recipients have not opened their gifts, then occasionally it could mean a corporate firewall is blocking Goody’s notification emails. In that scenario, you can simply copy your landing page link and send it to your gift recipients in a personal message.

You’re only charged for gifts that recipients accept, and only for the total value of the gifts they choose.

Why Goody is perfect for last-minute holiday gifts

The genius of holiday gifting on Goody is that even if the gifts do not physically arrive before the holidays, recipients get your card and gift notification immediately. So whether it’s a client, rockstar employee, or beloved colleague, the gift will feel delightful and “right on time.”

So even if you’re reading this Christmas Eve, it’s not too late to make someone's season bright.
