March is Women's History Month, a time to celebrate the accomplishments of women throughout history. Today, women are making great strides in the tech industry, and there are more opportunities than ever before to work in tech. This year, we're proud to support hundreds of female-founded brands and organizations that are making a difference.

Where do women stand in the tech world?

The representation of women in the tech sector matters. Diversity in the workforce contributes to creativity, productivity, and innovation. Women’s experiences – as well as men’s experiences – should inform the direction of digital innovation.

While we use the month to reflect on the courage of women in the past generations, it is also a time to celebrate the women who make a difference in our lives today: perhaps a co-worker, mom, grandmother, sister, teacher, boss, or mentor. At Goody, we are proud to share that 63% of our team members are female. Read on below to learn more about them and their go-to gifts for this season.

The women of Goody on their favorite advice (and gifts) for Women's History Month:

Katy Carrigan, CEO

What piece of advice would you give to an aspiring female entrepreneur?

There are a few! But two things that I still tell myself everyday:

Get comfortable being uncomfortable. You'll be put into a lot of new and challenging scenarios where you'll feel ill-equipped, but that just means you're growing.  Give yourself a moment to be overwhelmed, but then push it aside and lean into the situation.

Everything will be okay. You need to fundamentally believe that at your core to have the confidence to take risks and chase big dreams.

Go-to gift this season: Sayso and Nodpod.

What's currently on your Goody wishlist?

I've been dreaming of the Long-sleeve Silk Pant set from Lunya.

Sherine Rahimi, VP of Sales

Are there specific women who inspired or mentored you?

I’ve been really fortunate to work with several really influential female leaders in my career, some of which in a more formal mentor capacity and others unofficially. All of these women were gracious with an open-door policy where I could always seek career or personal guidance and advice whenever needed. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from them.

Go-to gift this season: Brunch l'Essentiel, Corduroy Stone Slippers are the best slippers I’ve ever owned! Despite my fears of getting them dirty (I have the Marshmallow!), the indoor-to-outdoor wearability is exactly as advertised and I never have to think twice about switching shoes when quickly stepping outside with my two pups. They’re so cozy and durable - I love them so much that I even made an emoji to sing their praises in an internal Slack channel.

What's currently on your Goody wishlist?

The Codie Canvas Monogrammed Tote from Boulevard. This cold, rainy weather in California has me daydreaming about being poolside. I love a tote that has a full zip closure and various pockets to keep what you need handy but still secure. Also, always love a good monogram for that extra touch of personalization.

Jiana Javier, Engineer

What first sparked your interest in working in the tech industry?

My parents were pretty tech-oriented when I was growing up, so a lot of my technology exposure began with them. They both work in the tech industry, so we’ve had a computer in our house for as long as I can remember. I started by playing CD-ROM games and chatting with my friends on MSN in grade school. I guess my parents supported my brother and my interest in technology because our Christmas gifts frequently involved the latest gaming consoles or devices. My brother and I would spend countless hours on our PlayStation 2 and Gameboys, and before we noticed, technology became ubiquitous in our lives.

In my senior year of high school, Computer Science took Math over as my favorite class, so I went all in and pursued it in college. I liked that it felt like the merriment of two things I already loved: logic and technology. After graduating college, working in the tech industry felt like a given. I’d been exposed to technology for so long and I had such a natural relationship with it that I couldn’t see myself pursuing any other path as fluidly. I love using new tools that enable and expedite our creativity as humans, and I’m grateful I can continue to carry this into my daily life at Goody!

Go-to gift this season: Parachute's Waffle Bath Towel! It's a must-have.

What’s currently on your Goody wishlist?

There's a lot of my wishlist, including APOTHEKE's Lotion and Signature Candle, Nodpod, and bkr's chic Water Bottle.

Sree Kolli, VP of Operations

What advice would you give to women entering the tech field?

I would encourage women entering tech to build tangible business skills by working cross-functionally. There is a lot of opportunity to learn across sales, growth, operations, etc. at an early-stage company and if you can be a sponge... the world is your oyster! It can be a bit intimidating, but lean into uncomfortable situations!

Go-to gift this season: Ember Mug — my trusted favorite since the earliest days of Goody.

What's currently on your Goody wishlist?

Parachute's Robe or Classic Slippers or anything from APOTHEKE! I love both brands.

Christina Sideris, Senior Director of CX

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry?

Varying perspectives and points of view foster better problem solving (and ultimately lead to increased business performance). It’s also important to create more role models in the tech industry. Belief in yourself can often be tied to role models you’ve observed throughout your younger life and having more women in the tech industry will have a positive impact on future generations.

Go-to gift this season:
Baby gifts! Lewis has beautiful, organic cotton take-home outfits, swaddles and burp cloths in designs that feel modern and fun.

What's currently on your Goody wishlist?

I think my hit list changes 10 times a week, but right now I’m feeling excited about: l’Essentiel Slippers from Brunch, The Starter Kit from Cooper Cow (always need more coffee!), The Starter Kit from Clevr Blends and springtime candle vibes with picks from APOTHEKE's Eden Collection.
