“La Colomba” is a traditional dove-shaped cake featuring a rich, soft dough with a slightly chewy texture. Fiasconaro’s cakes go through a slow 36-hour progressive dough rising process, using ancient methods passed down through generations. Their Sicilian-authentic ingredients are carefully selected. Soft wheat flour, butter, sugar and fresh barn eggs that combined together by the artistry of Fiasconaro’s pastry makers, create this iconic cake. Similar to Pandoro, this Colomba is without candied orange and topped with powdered sugar.
